Organized by HKDance/FLSH and co-organized by Beijing/LDTX, the 4th edition of the "Dynamic Dance Dialogue" will take place from July 3 to 19, 2026, at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Studio Theatre.
Building on last year's "Step by Step," this year's Dialogue takes on the theme "Blossoming," focusing on Chinese modern dance companies founded and developed between 2010 and 2025—a span of fifteen years. Kicking off the Dialogue on July 3–5 will be a special invited performance "The Silence We Carry" by the Hong Kong Dance Company, alongside guest choreographers Shi Xuan and Zhou Niannian (Xuannian Space). Then, on July 17–19, six works from different modern dance companies across various cities will be presented—together celebrating the symbiotic blossoming of art and our time.
"THE RISING SUN"
Choreography: Xu Yiming
Performance: Woo Dance Company (Guiyang)
The Rising Sun, themed around youth. The title refers to the moment when the sun is about to rise and the sky shifts from darkness to light. The dance portrays youth as a stage of intense growth and transformation, beginning with innocence and confusion, moving through a process of exploration and adjustment, and ultimately achieving unity and harmony of body and mind -- just like the morning sun breaking through layers of darkness to finally burst forth into radiant light.
"HUAN: THE ILLUSION"
Choreography: Liu Xiangyu, Qi Pingping, Dong Kang
Performance: OceanFlow (Ningbo)
Through love, we might find the path back to ourselves.
Rivers, lakes, and mountains sing anthems for the bravery that love ignites.
Yet we may find no escape in flight, nor a haven in staying.
One question—or forty-eight thousand—coalesces into a cosmic tear.
It is the instant we behold ourselves, crystallized forever.
